Update from PSA chair - Dani :
Social interactions between parents/reps/PSA is crucial. PSA needs certain people/skills which we may find within our school community but we just don't know about them. Important for Reps to organise social events (coffee or drinks) to get to know their class parents and hopefully find helpers on the way.
PSA needs an Acountant at the moment for instance - we will send a specific request shortly - ACTION POINT ask Sally what exactly is needed for this accounting task & send the request. Snooky advised we must find a chartered accountant to sign off the PSA books.
We also need a DJ for the Infant/Junior disco - Gold class may be able to help with that - ACTION POINT Bex inquiring

Important date: PSA AGM in November (date tbc 20th Nov)
At the AGM, PSA will give financial update, elect new members officially, discuss about school requests etc. At the moment PSA is still waiting for the schools' wish lists (delay due to the admin reorg in Infant). Once we receive the 2 wish lists, PSA will decide on what to finance (there may be a change in funds allocation due to the different ratio Infant vs Junior - one form less now in Infant)
What the PSA funds every year: bookbags, chicks, butterflies, wcit lessons in year 4, school trips subsidies, stationary etc. Plus exceptional projects/requests such as playground overshade, library refurb, hall refurb etc.
What more do we need? Playground refurb? More PSA money allocated to wcit given school will get less funding next year ?
PSA role important - grateful for all lovely parents dedicating their time!
Best way to help in case it's impossible to find some time:
Take part in all the fundraising online events: raffle, auction etc.
Get your employer to grant Match funding (or donation matching for
our PSA events)
Pick up Rokesly school when shopping at Asda/ Amazon etc.
Donate on line via Total giving, Scopay (canteen is free at the moment so why not replacing that with a donation to our school?
PSA aim to solidify all comms about online donations in a newsletter. Good idea given by a parent would be to update a calendar/ tapestry to get all the information in 1 place only.
PSA Website also needs to be updated + newsletter created - two parents kindly offered to help (Web designer and graphic designer) - thanks!
